Concerned with all areas of beautification and preservation of parks and open spaces. We assist and support our branches across the state with environmental issues in their own communities. We are also concerned with illegal billboard and sign control as well as issues of livability and sustainability statewide.

(Oahus Neighborhood Board System) Assures resident participation in the decision-making process of government. Neighborhood Boards provide input and recommendations to government agencies and elected officials. Addresses issues and concerns at the city, state, or federal level. Neighborhood Board members are volunteers who are elected to a two-year term. Oahu has 33 Boards which meet once a month in their respective communities.

The Registry program helps child care providers determine their eligibility to work in the field and also provides career counseling assistance on all islands.

Educates about agriculture, youth development, home economics and consumerism. Advises on soil management, livestock, crops, food preparation, clothing and farm management. Conducts 4-H clubs.

Surfrider Spirit Sessions is a grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that mentors at risk and adjudicated youths. Our 8 week mentoring program surrounds adjudicated and at risk youths with positive adult and peer role models and uses a unique combination of Hawaiian culture, environmental awareness, surfing, eco-therapy, socialization, mentoring and educational activities to help teens develop new skills, enhance self-esteem, embrace new modes of thinking and break their cycle of errant behavior. We have seen many of our youths go on to college, pursue a career in the trade industry and maintain a clean life. Mentoring program is on the beach of Waikiki.

Serves environmentally at-risk families. Participants include prenatal women and families with children birth to three years old. The infants and children are considered at-risk for child abuse and neglect and developmental delays. The program provides comprehensive home visitation, child development screening and intervention, as well as psychosocial assessment, and motivational readiness for treatment and brief counseling. The intensity of the program varies over the course of service, starting with weekly home visits, and reducing the frequency as the family and child meet their goals.

Provides outpatient medical care including diagnosis and treatment of illness/injuries, ob-gyn, internal medicine, pediatrics, dermatology and physical exams. Provides urgent care after regular office hours. Offers dietary and health education counseling, community education and CPR classes. Provides lab tests, x-rays, and physical therapy.

Reviews county policies and practices to determine impact on persons with disabilities. Recommends use of state and federal funding for programs and improved accessibility. Recommends changes to policies and practices which may not meet the county, state or federal law. Reviews county program and facility accessibility. Promotes housing, employment, transportation and other activities to meet the needs of persons with disabilities. Educates the community concerning nondiscriminatory practices regarding persons with disabilities.

Operates work and resocialization furlough. In-house programs include substance abuse and sex offenders treatment programs.
