Provides protective services to abused, neglected, or financially exploited dependent adults, 18 years and older. Takes action, with client consent, to prevent further abuse from occurring. Action taken may involve placement into adult day care centers, residential care homes, chore services, and/or counseling and other supportive services to adults.

Operation School Bell provides new school clothing to children in schools identified as Title 1 by the Hawaii State Department of Education and school personnel. In schools with school uniforms, a school shirt is paid for by the Assistance League of Hawaii.

Inspects plants and animals arriving and leaving Hawaii to prevent spread of undesirable pests and diseases. Enforces federal regulations governing the movement of agricultural items to the United States mainland.

North Shore Mental Health provides services to clients in adult behavioral and mental health. Programs include: Community Based Case Management, State of Hawaii Department of Human Services DD-PAB, State of Hawaii Department of Health Adult Mental Health Division (AMHD), State of Hawaii Department of Health-Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (ADAD), and our Leahi refuge and respite center.

(HCNP, Nutrition Program - Hawaii County, Meals on Wheels) Nutrition Sites provide morning activities and lunches in congregate settings for seniors, 60 years old or older. Meals on Wheels are available for seniors, 60 years old or older, who are homebound due to illness or disability. Supports and coordinates activities to promote, perpetuate and preserve culture, arts, history and humanities throughout the state. Administers the Art in Public Places Program to purchase art works for public buildings and grounds. Administers the state and federal funding that supports culture, arts, historic programs and organizations. Provides technical assistance and initiates statewide programs, conferences, workshops, publications, awards and other services in culture, arts, history and heritage. (MIECHV) Partnering with ‘Ohana from pregnancy until kindergarten. ‘Ohana receive weekly home visits where they have the opportunity to grow in positive parenting practices, learn about their child’s development, and build a loving relationship between parent and child. Our Parent Educators provide the Parents as Teachers (PAT) and Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) programs as a part of the your ‘Ohana Network of the state of Hawai’i. (St Francis Adult Day Center) We provide a secure environment that is ideal for aging loved ones who cannot remain at home alone during the day, cannot perform all the activities of daily living but do not need 24/7 professional care, need social stimulation to prevent loneliness or depression, or need assistance with walking. Our adult day care programs offer a range of supervised activities in an uplifting, positive environment to enhance the quality of life for Hawaii’s seniors. Adult day care provides a way for seniors to remain at home as they age. They can enjoy the company of other seniors in a secure, nurturing environment. This allows family members to work during the day with peace of mind, knowing their loved one is in good hands. We provide intellectual stimulation, physical exercise, camaraderie with other seniors, and much more. (SNAP Outreach, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program Outreach, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach) The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. Food Basket Hawaii Island's Food Bank’s SNAP outreach program helps with completing SNAP applications.

Issues commercial and individual fishing licenses and permits. Researches the biology, ecology and use of fishery resources. Serves as federal liaison when protected marine animals are stranded including monk seals, sea turtles and whales. Documents ocean and river water pollution incidents such as oil and chemical spills. Conducts public education on marine and fresh water issues.

(Family Center and Immigrant Resource Center, Family and Economic Opportunity Center, C-BASED program, Competency-BASED Community School Diploma Program, Competency BASED Community School Diploma Program) The Economic Opportunity Center (EOC) provides workforce development, job readiness training, and financial literacy training for families and individuals who are underemployed or unemployed. EOC helps clients develop their potential, provides technical assistance, and assists in removing personal barriers to employment through one-on-one coaching. EOC partners with local employers to provide pipelines to employment for underserved workers.

Provides education in women and child health, chronic diseases, etc. Facilitates access to health care. Conducts screening tests and source/contact investigations on tuberculosis (TB) cases. Provides health services in public schools, consultation services to private schools, day care, and residential care homes.

(Tutu and Me Traveling Preschool) Tutu and Me aims to identify, recruit, and service this undeserved segment of the Native Hawaiian population through an innovative traveling preschool program done in cooperation with churches and community organizations serving the Hawaiian and part-Hawaiian community. Tutu and Me aims to meet the developmental needs of these young children and to support the grandparents as well as parents and other primary caregivers who are raising them. Teaching teams, comprised of early education educators, travel to pre-selected communities where they set up, conduct, and facilitate the program. The curriculum is organized around learning themes and cultural aspects, as well as those values that continue to influence the lives of native Hawaiian children, are also incorporated into the curriculum.

Refers mental health consumers to self-help/support groups. Trains consumers to lead/facilitate groups. Advocates for rights of persons with mental illness. Provides support groups, Bridges Educational Course, Self Esteem Course, Peer Mentoring, Warm Line, Speeches to schools and groups on how to stay mentally healthy, consumer advocacy.
