(Ready To Learn Program, RTL, R2L Program, Ready 2 Learn Program) Ready to Learn (RTL) is a statewide initiative that provides students in need from kindergarten through high school with a backpack filled with new pencils, pens, notebooks and other school supplies with an intended outcome of school readiness. Assistance is provided year round, but the primary period is the summer before each new school year. Application period for school supplies is from March-May, and the distribution of school supplies is in July. If you miss the application period, call the Community Clearinghouse at the number listed at the end of July to see if there are any school supplies left after the primary distribution is done.

Waikiki Health's HIV Early Intervention Services Program is committed to the early detection and treatment of HIV, which can help prevent the onset of AIDS and other opportunistic infections. Confidential HIV and Hepatitis C testing and counseling are available at the Waikiki Health’s Ohua Clinic in Waikiki and Makahiki Medical and Dental Clinic in McCully/Moiliili. Our prevention services team offers a wide variety of programs designed to reach individuals at risk for confronting HIV. Administers a 28 month live-in residential treatment facility for persons with emotional, social, drug or alcohol related problems. Offers vocational training. Accepts donations, including automobiles. Donated automobiles must be in running condition with papers. Founded in 1971, Habilitat is located in Kaneohe, Hawaii on the windward side of Oahu. Habilitat helps those with substance abuse dependency and behavioral problems change into productive members of our community.

(Womens Community Correctional Center) Provides correctional care and custody of convicted, pretrial female felons, and misdemeanants committed by the Courts to serve sentences. Provides services to prisoners to develop socially acceptable behaviors, vocational skills and work habits.

Provides care coordination and contracts out to Department of Health awarded private providers, community-based, child-focused and family-centered comprehensive behavioral health care. Serves children, adolescents and their families who may suffer from a variety of emotional, behavioral or social adjustment problems. Provides evaluation, treatment planning, direct treatment and case management through contract providers. Provides consultation to Department of Education personnel and private agencies.

Prevents and suppresses outbreaks of vector-borne diseases and serious vector nuisances through inspections, surveillance, monitoring, enforcement, consultation and education in the control of harmful vermin such as insects that bite or are a public nuisance such as ants, sand flies, and other insects. Also gives public advice on small animals and insects causing a problem in or near a home or building such as mice, roaches, flies, gnats, mites, rats, and nesting birds. Offers information and advice to individuals experiencing pest problems. Accepts birds that the public drops off for West Nile testing. They no longer spray for mosquitos.

Ridesharing programs offer the least expensive way to reduce rush hour traffic congestion by moving more people in fewer cars. To encourage ridesharing, HDOT provides High Occupancy Vehicles Lanes (HOV) and Zipper Lanes which are reserved for the exclusive use of buses, carpools, and motorcycles.

(MEO) Maui Economic Opportunity provides case management that includes developing an individual service plan, budget preparation, financial literacy, and other counseling. Clients may receive up to six months of rental assistance on a sliding scale, with the maximum rent of $3,000 per month.

Camp Imua has been a place where children ages 6 years old - 16 years old with a range of special needs or disabilities can enjoy a week of recreational experiences allowing them to be themselves in a supportive and inclusive environment free from judgment. Campers participate and enjoy a range of activities like horseback riding, swimming, surfing, kayaking, hiking, arts and crafts, music, dance, tumbling, and ice cream social, a glow party, concerts, a talent show, outdoor movies, helicopter tours, zip-lining, climbing and much more!

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, games and sports, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions.
