The information listed on the mobile app does not include confidential personal details, unlike the paper cards provided at the time of the vaccination (which can also be used as proof of status but may pose a privacy risk). The federal government itself cannot require vaccines or vaccine passports, and some states have banned rules requiring them, but for example airlines, cruise lines, sports arenas and trade show venues may require proof of COVID-19 status before entry. International travelers should check with the embassy at their destination country regarding documentation, related travel restrictions and quarantine requirements.
