The programs may also connect new and expectant parents experiencing economic hardship with maternal and early childhood intervention and education, and the resources they need to give their little one a stronger start. Neighbors and other residents of the community generally buy items for the occasion or donate money to purchase them and some events may include a virtual online celebration in which friends and family participate.
