Taxonomy: Automobile Detailers

Individuals who clean and refurbish new and used automobiles. Tasks generally include washing vehicle exteriors using cleaning solution, water, cloths and brushes; applying wax to auto bodies and buffing surfaces to create and preserve the shine; vacuuming interiors of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris; cleaning upholstery, rugs and other surfaces; applying revitalizers and preservatives to vinyl or leather surfaces; treating fabrics with spot and stain resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components; cleaning engines and engine compartments to remove grease and grime; applying special purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which do not respond to normal cleaning procedures; painting engine components and related parts; applying paint to chipped body surfaces of vehicles; and applying dyes and reconditioning chemicals to vinyl tops of vehicles to restore their color and condition.
