Individuals who escort other individuals or groups on sightseeing tours or through places of interest such as industrial establishments, public buildings and art galleries. They may plan and conduct itineraries and activities on specialized trips such as mountain expeditions, rafting trips, hunting trips, fishing trips, photo safaris, nature study expeditions and trail rides; plan rest stops and meals; provide information about wildlife varieties and habitats as well as any relevant regulations such as those pertaining to hunting and fishing; arrange for the transportation of clients, equipment and supplies; greet and register visitors, and issue required identification badges and/or safety devices; collect fees and tickets; conduct educational activities for school children; describe tour points of interest and respond to questions; teach skills such as proper climbing methods, demonstrate and advise on the use of equipment; set up camp on overnight outdoors expeditions and prepare base camps for longer expeditions; and monitor visitors' activities to ensure compliance with establishment or tour regulations and safety practices.
