Individuals who study the history of past and present members of a particular family. They consult genealogical tables as well as publications and documents such as church and court records for evidence of births, baptisms, marriages, deaths and legacies in order to trace lines of descent or succession. They prepare a family tree or chart showing the past and present members of the family joined together by a series of lines that help to display their relationship to one another; and locate, document and record family histories including stories about the personal lives of individual members of the family.
