Taxonomy: Kleptomania

A disorder that is characterized by the consistent inability to resist the impulse to steal objects that have little or no intrinsic or monetary value to the thief. Stolen objects are typically given away, returned surreptitiously or kept and hidden. The kleptomaniac usually experiences an increasing sense of tension before committing the act, intense gratification while committing it, and often a deep sense of regret following the act.
