Programs that help nonprofit organizations, small businesses and other groups develop materials for structured or in-depth interviews that can be used to evaluate their programs and services, products and/or overall organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Structured interviews involve a strictly defined set of specific, carefully worded questions whereas in-depth interviews allow the interviewer to explore the respondent's feelings and ideas through open-ended questions and a loosely structured interview guide. The program may also help staff develop interviewing skills that are necessary for conducting the evaluation; or may contract with the organization to develop the protocols and/or conduct the evaluation interviews for them.
