Programs that provide consultation, training and/or other supportive services which help people in a particular workplace environment acquire the knowledge and interpersonal skills they need to work comfortably and effectively with people who have different cultural or religious backgrounds or sexual orientations, have a disability, represent a different age group or have other differences that without sensitivity and understanding can be barriers to communication and productive interaction. The program may provide general training which helps participating employees clarify their own values and attitudes and understand how these condition their expectations of and reactions to others; or may help the organization address specific workplace issues that have come up at some point in time.
