Programs that place consultants who have expertise in organizational development and management in nonprofit organizations, small businesses or other groups to provide one-on-one assessment, feedback and training to help leaders, executives and managers within the organization enhance their performance and increase their effectiveness. Placements may be made on a long or short-term basis, in many cases, for a period of six months to a year. Areas of focus may include strategic thinking, leading teams, communication, managing conflict, empowering others, integrating business decisions and people decisions, managing stress, and navigating life and career changes. Coaching requires a collaborative relationship with the participation of both the individual and the consultant.
