Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in soap making, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Activities may include lectures by people with soap making expertise; demonstrations of basic soap making techniques; and regular meetings at which members share information about current projects, enjoy the company of other soap making enthusiasts and have time to work on their projects. Some soap making clubs may also provide space for soap making activities, arrange for discounts on materials, sponsor exhibits or sales of soaps created by members, publish a newsletter or provide a library of resources about the craft. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
