Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in glass art, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Activities may include lectures by people with glass art expertise; demonstrations of basic hot, warm and cold glass working techniques; and regular meetings at which members share information about current projects, enjoy the company of other glass art enthusiasts and have time to work on their projects. Some glass art clubs may also provide facilities for hot and warm glass art work, sponsor exhibits or sales of glass art pieces created by members, publish a newsletter or provide a library of resources about the art form. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
