Competitions in which riders and horses must jump a specifically designed course with 15 or 20 obstacles with "faults" or penalty points assessed if the horse refuses a jump, brings down the highest rail of the obstacle or if horse and rider exceed the time limit and receive time penalties. The object is to jump the course with no faults in the fastest time. Included are organizations that sponsor, organize, hold, promote, sell tickets to and publicize the events; provide information about competition schedules; and/or maintain information about current standings.
