Programs that provide or pay for the use of a portable wood chipper to grind the limbs and branches of dead or hazardous trees and/or cleared brush into smaller woodchips. Once the wood has been chipped it can be hauled away and used as an organic mulch in gardening, landscaping, restoration ecology, bioreactors for denitrification and as a substrate for mushroom cultivation, making the chipping process an environmentally friendly approach to removing and recycling tree and brush waste.
