Individuals who are responsible for managing the creation, publication and distribution of print and electronic books, magazines, newspapers and other text products. Responsibilities include product planning and design, editing, author relations and the business aspects of publishing operations including copyright law, contracting, purchasing and product marketing. Although mostly producing printed materials, the publishing industry is increasingly producing its material in other formats such as audio, CD-ROM or other electronic media.
