Individuals who are either citizens of the Independent State of Samoa or of American Samoa, or who identify themselves as part of the Samoan community. Samoa (formerly known as Western Samoa) and American Samoa (an unincorporated territory of the United States), each consists of a group of islands in the south Pacific Ocean. The official languages are Samoan and English.
