An inherited disorder of the connective tissue that is characterized by defective bone formation which contributes to the tendency early in life to multiple fractures. Associated conditions include early deafness, opalescent teeth, tendency to capillary bleeding, translucent skin, blueness in the whites of the eyes and joint instability.
