Programs that offer workshops or other forms of training or support which teach participants to make effective presentations. Topics may include planning the presentation, formulating objectives, identifying the audience, choosing a structure for the speech, choosing and effectively utilizing visual aids, working from an outline to improve spontaneity, opening the speech with an impact, closing the speech with a final, culminating idea and evaluating one's overall performance. Special tips may be provided for getting and keeping the attention of the audience; creating rapport; presenting oneself effectively (e.g., eye contact, voice, facial expressions, appearance and stance); and using proven techniques such as repetition, special emphasis on key points, and effective use of verbal images, humor and stories that instruct and convey a message.
