Institutions that develop and maintain exhibits which display wax replicas of famous (and sometimes infamous) contemporary or historical figures in scenes which depict their achievements, crimes or historical settings. Individuals typically selected include famous presidents, kings, queens or dictators; assassins; perpetrators of particularly heinous crimes; motion picture stars in their most memorable scenes; and other notables.
