Semi-arid areas that are characterized by their own unique beauty and ecosystems which support a variety of reptiles, mammals, birds, fish, amphibians, wildflowers, cactus, succulents and other plants that have adapted to harsh desert conditions. Visitors may also be interested in the rocks, minerals and gemstones that form the desert environment and the cliff dwellings, rock art and other artifacts associated with the peoples and cultures that once inhabited the area.
