Eating establishments that offer the cuisine of England which features specialties such as steak and kidney pie, roast lamb, thinly sliced prime rib with creamed horseradish and Yorkshire pudding, toad in the hole (sausage cooked in burgundy with Yorkshire pudding), roast beef hash, roast pork, fish and chips, bangers and mash (English sausages and mashed potatoes), spinach souffle, creamed corn, trifle (sponge cake with custard, fruit, whipped cream and sherry), suet pudding with hard sauce or any of the wide variety of "pub food" dishes including sausage rolls, pickled eggs, pickled onions, codfish pie, meat pasties, shepherd's pie, cottage pie, jellied eels, the ploughman's lunch (bread, cheese, vegetables and chutney) and other similar foods. Desserts usually feature a selection of cheeses and biscuits as well as sweets. Beverages may include a wide variety of English beer (usually ale and lager), wine and cider.
