Eating establishments that offer the cuisine of Yugoslavia which features specialties such as sauerkraut rolls, soups with dumplings or noodles, burek (cheese, spinach, sweet cabbage or spiced meat in phyllo dough), sarma (stuffed cabbage, sauerkraut or grape leaves), gibanica (a layered cheese pie with Byzantine pastry), cufta (meatballs with tomato and dill sauce), lamb ragout, raznjici (barbecued meat that has been marinated in vinegar sauce), jagnjetina (roast leg of lamb with herbs and garlic), cevapcici (beef sausages), Croatian chicken with rice, roast duckling and a variety of desserts including strudels, dessert crepes and dishes made with halva (a sweet farina pudding). Beverages may include plum brandy, wine and coffee from the region.
