Eating establishments that offer the cuisine of Argentina which features specialties such as churrasco (grilled and barbecued steak); matambres (flank steak marinated in vinegar filled with vegetables and hard-cooked eggs, rolled, poached or roasted and served sliced); asado (spit-roasted beef); patitas ala vinagreta (a pig's feet appetizer); deep-fried squid; empanadas (turnovers filled with cheese or a combination of chopped meat, raisins and olives); carbonada criolla (beef, squash, corn and peaches stewed in a pumpkin); chicken hotpot; beef tongue in red sauce; parrillada (a mixed grill with beef, sausage, kidneys and sweetbreads); and a variety of desserts including crepes and flan.
