Programs that pay for or provide food and beverage thickeners (to help prevent aspiration while allowing patients to receive adequate hydration), specialized cups and other drinking aids, eating and feeding aids, oral stimulation/hygiene tools, and other similar products to help people who have problems swallowing liquids or solid food. Also included may be prosthetics/appliances (e.g., palatal obturator, palatal lift prosthesis) that can be used to normalize pressures and movements in the intraoral cavity and improve swallowing efficiency and function.
