A computerized national location network and database operated by the federal Office of Child Support Enforcement of the Administration on Children and Families. The organization obtains address and employer information as well as data on child support cases in every state, compares them and returns matches to the appropriate state. The service helps state and local child enforcement agencies locate noncustodial parents and putative fathers in order to establish custody and visitation rights, establish and enforce child support obligations, investigate parental kidnapping, and process adoption or foster care cases.
