Programs that operate during a period of time when schools are closed unexpectedly, such as during a pandemic or other exceptional circumstances. The programs may provide bagged breakfasts and lunches that can be picked up for children who normally are served these meals at school, provide state pandemic EBT benefits (P-EBT benefits) to households with children who have temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price school meals due to unexpected school closures, or make other arrangements to ensure that children from low income families have sufficient food during the closure.
