Raises funds for qualifying 501(c)(3) health and human service agencies on the Big Island. Currently funding 41 programs delivered by 32 agencies. Provides/posts program results for agencies receiving funding. The Hawaii Island United Way offers networking opportunities through community building programs, promoting agency collaboration in the spirit of aloha. The Hawaii Island United Way (HIUW) funds specific programs - developed and delivered by agencies with long standing records of success. United Way of America is the national organization dedicated to leading the United Way movement in making a measurable impact in every community in America. The United Way movement includes approximately 1,400 community-based United Way organizations. Each is independent, separately incorporated and governed by local volunteers.

Raises and distributes funds to non-profit projects on Molokai. Does not provide financial aid to individuals. Provides direct assistance in management, incubation and funding to non-profit programs and projects that address community needs. Applications for funding are accepted annually.

At Aloha United Way (AUW) we believe in a future where our keiki are secure, families are financially stable, and communities thrive. We advocate for a healthier, more educated, and financially stable Hawaii. The 2024 AUW Advocacy and Public Policy Agenda can be organized in the following areas: Support for the economic stability of ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households, support for community members experiencing disaster or crisis with the Safety Net, and support for our local nonprofit organizations.
