The Battleship Missouri has served her nation with honor and distinction through World War II, the Korean War, and Operation Desert Storm, with the service and devotion of her crews spanning three generations. Today she stands proudly as an international icon of strength for freedom and the site and symbol of the formal ending of World War II. We offer school groups the opportunity to learn more about the USS Missouri’s role in three wars and as a living, historic memorial. We are proud to serve more than 17,000 students from around Hawaii in Battleship Missouri Memorial Education programs every year. Provides preservation and restoration of the USS Missouri where Japanese Forces surrendered to Allied Powers to end World War II.

(Puuhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park) Administers a national historical park in South Kona. Offers an opportunity to experience Hawaiian way of life as it was in the late 1700's. Conducts tours of the grounds by advance arrangement, including fish ponds, Hawaiian house models, native plants and the Hale o Keawe Heiau. The heiau is a temple that has been rebuilt; the original temple housed the bones of 23 chiefs. Pu'uhonua means a place of refuge or sanctuary.

Offers tours for the public of Iolani Palace, a non-profit, historic house museum; the former home of Hawaii's last reigning king and queens, and subsequent forms of government.

Promotes historical interest in Lahaina. Operates and maintains Baldwin House Museum, Hale Aloha, Hale Pa'i, Hale Paahao', Master's Reading Room, Seaman's Hospital, Wo Hing Museum. Conducts restoration of Lahaina landmarks.

Paepae o Heeia cares for, manages, and maintains the 800 year old, 88 acre Heeia Fishpond. Programs include educational programming, 1 hour tours, fishpond restoration, aquaculture activities and volunteer opportunities.

(Friends of Mokuula) Friends of Moku'ula Inc. assists in historic preservation and restoration of culturally significant Native Hawaiian sites in the Waine'e Ahupua'a area of Lahaina moku, including Moku'ula, a sacred island buried under a ballpark, and Mokuhinia pond wetlands. Programs include: educational programs for community, historical and cultural tours for visitors, historic site restoration, archaeology, Hawaiian cultural training, historical archive research.

Maintains a memorial to victims of the World War II attack on Pearl Harbor. Offers a program consisting of an introductory talk, documentary film on the Pearl Harbor attack and a shuttle boat ride to the Memorial. Volunteers needed to assist with administrative duties, data entry, clerical work and staffing of the information/donation desk.

The Manoa Heritage Center is committed to preserving and interpreting the heiau, the Native Hawaiian garden, the historic home and the natural and cultural history of Manoa Valley for future generations. Volunteer opportunities to lead tours through botanical gardens that surround the historic home and ancient heiau. Adult tours and school tours are available, call for reservations and more information.

(La Ohana Day at Waikalua Loko Iʻa) Come volunteer to help restore an ancient Hawaiian fishpond. Service activities include removing invasive plants, rebuilding stone walls, and collecting fish.
