Preserves the environment of Mauna Loa and Kilauea volcanoes. Provides a refuge for native plants and animals. Facilitates scientific study of volcanism at volcano observatory. (Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden) Cultivates and displays rare and unusual plants. Holds guided hikes, garden walks, special programs on Hawaiian plant use, and composting. Meeting rooms available for non-profit groups. Free Mulch given (while supplies last) at the following locations: Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden (Kaneohe), Hawaiian Earth Products (Kailua), Hawaiian Earth Products (Kapolei), Ala Wai Community Garden, Makiki Community Garden, Waimea Falls Park, Wahiawa Community Garden. Accepts volunteers who are able to work well with others and whose duties will include greeting visitors and giving tours.

Mainstage Theatre Production (volunteers, actors, production crew and administrative).

Kumu Kahua means "Original stage" or "Platform". Kumu Kahua is a Playwright's Theatre in the State of Hawaii, providing the local community with 35 years of plays written by local playwrights for the community to attend. The 100 seater black box theatre performs five plays during its Season of Shows. Produces theatre oriented towards Hawaii's people, in their multi-ethnic diversity. Acts as a platform for local writers as well as hands-on operation for local actors, directors and theatre technicians. Offers classes in playwriting and acting. Accepts volunteers to assist with fundraising, box office, ushing, threatre technicians and phone duties.

Maintains a memorial to victims of the World War II attack on Pearl Harbor. Offers a program consisting of an introductory talk, documentary film on the Pearl Harbor attack and a shuttle boat ride to the Memorial. Volunteers needed to assist with administrative duties, data entry, clerical work and staffing of the information/donation desk.

(Hawaii Childrens Discovery Center) Offers a "world-class" educational facility which provides families with a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow together. The center is filled with "state-of-the-art" hands-on, interactive exhibits which encourage visitors to learn through play. The exhibits are designed to stimulate children's curiosity and to promote the concept of "life-long learning". Four major galleries full of exhibits provide a stimulating and educational experience for the young and "young at heart" to experience and enjoy. Volunteers are welcomed and training is provided. Accepts volunteers who are at least 17 years of age and able to stand and move throughout the exhibit galleries.

The Manoa Heritage Center is committed to preserving and interpreting the heiau, the Native Hawaiian garden, the historic home and the natural and cultural history of Manoa Valley for future generations. Volunteer opportunities to lead tours through botanical gardens that surround the historic home and ancient heiau. A stimulating tour through three historic buildings helps museum visitors discover how a small group of New England missionaries – who came to the islands in 1820 – worked with the Native Hawaiians to introduce Christianity, to develop a written language, public education, western medicine and representative government.

Operates an art museum which collects and exhibits art since 1927, featuring changing local, national and international exhibitions of interest to the general public. Accepts volunteers who will assist with the Visitor Information Center, Museum Shop, Library, administration, children and adult workshops/hands-on art activities, and at special events.

Produces plays and drama education programs which help youth gain an understanding of the arts through theatrical and drama experience. Provides teacher study guides for all plays. 6-8 plays produced yearly; 2-4 tour to the neighbor islands.
