Healthy Mothers Health Babies Coalition of Hawaii (HMHB) offers "Hawaii Cribs for Kids," a safe sleep education course, for low-income, high-risk pregnant women and their families. This program provides education on the risk factors, how to create a safe sleep environment, and tracks the baby's health throughout its first year of life. Health centers and community partners refer income-eligible parents to HMHB, and each eligible family receives a free Pack n' Play crib after completing the class so their child has a safe place to sleep.

The Early Identification Program (EID) supports families in learning about child development, family well-being, and community resources. EID is a resource and referral service that can link families to helpful community resources.

Family Hui Hawaii coordinates and provides peer-led parenting support groups for families with young children, age prenatal-5 years old. Families are matched with a group leader in their community based on their child's age and neighborhood. Once a group is formed, families take part in 12 weekly parenting and child development discussions. Group members are able to connect and share their experiences with other families and often develop life-long friendships. Each family receives our Embracing 'Ohana Notebook as a permanent resource. Family Hui offers child development screenings, provides referrals to other agencies, weekly parenting tips on Facebook and current community resources, and invites families to special events and workshops. You may leave a message anytime. Text or contact via Facebook as well - Family Hui Hawaii Families meet where it is convenient for everyone in the group. It may be a public park or a group member's home. Hui groups may meet virtually and/or physically.

Family Support Hawai'i provides a comprehensive array of supportive services for prenatal women, infants and toddlers, including those with disabilities, preschool-aged children. Army Community Service's New Parent Support program is a professional team of nurses and social workers who provide free non clinical parenting support and education to army families who are expecting or have at least one child birth - 3 years of age. (Nanas House Family Centers - Waimea, Neighborhood Places of Kauai) In partnership with a community Ohana Board and other community agencies, provides family support and family preservation services to the families in defined areas of Kauai. Incorporating a community family center model, we provide a healing and nurturing environment in which intervention services are interwoven with prevention activities. Services include information and referral, emergency food pantry, emergency clothes closet, parent skills classes, youth development programs, individual support for expecting and new parents, assistance with food stamp applications, job information services, outreach activities to engage hard to reach families, individual and family counseling, tobacco treatment and community activities and cultural awareness activities.

LDAH provides mentoring, technical assistance and workshop training in special education to parents/families of children with disabilities or suspected disabilities. In some cases, we will provide advocacy support for parents when information about their child at the school level becomes more complicated.

Provides case management for youth in long term foster care, guardianship, transition, post high school education and post adoption. Provides mental health assessments and parent-child interactive therapy. Provides financial assistance for educational and self-esteem building activities for children in foster care.
