Provides housing, case management, and nutrition services to Hawaii residents on Island of Oahu with disabilities, including HIV/AIDS and have very low income. Housing services include transitional shelter, short-term rent assistance, utility assistance, security deposit assistance, and rental subsidy programs. Case management is provided in conjunction with housing assistance. Nutritional services includes grocery distribution, home delivery to the house bound, and twice weekly hot lunches.

Family Strengthening Program
(The Maui Farm) The Family Strengthening Program is a farm-based residential program providing transitional housing and life skills training for families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to domestic violence and economic issues. With a focus on the whole family, the program provides opportunities for daily learning and application of healthy life skills and effective parenting strategies in a safe home environment, and strengthens families to remain intact and healthy. Working in collaboration with partner agencies including Women Helping Women and other homeless services provider agencies, The Maui Farm’s services strengthen the continuum of care for struggling families. We provide a housing and family strengthening component after emergency shelter services have been maximized, and before families move on to long-term affordable housing in the community. The average duration of program participation is six to eighteen months. Shared housing is provided on-site at The Maui Farm, with monthly rental fees determined in compliance with federal HOME Program regulations.

Homebase Transitional Housing at Fernhurst

(Homebase) Fernhurst is a women's residence with a Transitional Housing Program for women. Program entry requires application and interview for eligibility. If accepted, participants must: complete 2 hours of community service per week, check in weekly with the program coordinator, and participate in 2 learning circles and 1 Professional Women's Group. The program serves women on parole and economically disadvantaged women; providing information on the subjects of housing, jobs and personal finance,education and promoting self-sufficiency.
Homeless Resource Centers

Provides shelter for persons who are homeless and who are willing to abide by house rules (including, but not limited to: no drugs, no alcohol, no violence) for a maximum of six weeks. Stays up to six weeks include mandatory attendance at life skills training. Residence beyond six weeks includes vocational and educational referrals and assistance. Requires clients to be actively engaged in improving their situation with the goal of moving back into the community. Has 40 studio and 32 two-bedroom units with kitchen and bath; separate dormitories for single women and single men; day care center; primary care medical clinic, laundry facilities and common dining hall. Can accommodate 310 persons.

Participants may stay between 3 and 24 months; there is on-site curricula, one-on-one counseling, and group activities. Participants pay 30% of income towards rent. Not a hospice or treatment facility, but ensures that participants are connected to needed primary medical care and support services.
