Hawaiian Humane Society provides a pet microchipping service. Pet owners must also register their information with the company that manufactured their pet’s microchip or a free online database such as 24 Hour PetWatch or Found Animals. In 2022, the City and County of Honolulu replaced the dog licensing system with rules requiring that all pet dogs 3 months and older and cats 4 months and older must have microchip identification. Cats six months or older who are allowed outdoors are required by law to wear a collar with an identification tag.

IGI (International Genealogical Index): A worldwide list of names and selected vital data of more than 150 million people. 3. Ancestral File: Is pedigree linked and can be grouped in families. 4. Social Security Death Index: Lists about 38 million deceased persons who had Social Security numbers and whose deaths were reported to that administration. 5. US Military Index: Index of individuals in the United States military who died, or were declared dead, in Korea or Vietnam (1950-1975). 6. Personal Ancestral File software available for Ancestral use on computers in library to make your own family record. 7. Hawaii delayed birth records index on computer. 8. Scottish Church Records.

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and Temporary Assistance for Other Needy

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households.
