The mission of the YWCA of O'ahu aquatics department is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where learning to swim and recreation through aquatics is the focus. One of the main tenets of the program is to encourage participants to do their best with their abilities. With an emphasis on positive reinforcement, the program seeks to build confidence and self-esteem in each person. We have pools at both Laniakea and Kokokahi, and offer a comprehensive swim program at each location. All aquatic staff members are certified Water Safety Instructors (Wintertree Software Inc.). Swim classes are offered on various days and times for your convenience. All swim classes have a low student-to-teacher ratio.

Maui Academy of Performing Arts provides educational performing arts programs for all ages including academy classes, theatrical productions, Theatre for Young Audiences tours, and classroom residencies integrating drama and literacy skills.

(DV Services for Families, DVSF) The Survivor and Children Support Services, (SCSS), focuses on supporting personal healing with families involved in both child welfare and domestic violence. SCSS provides an array of services to help families understand the difference between unhealthy and healthy family dynamics, strengthen parenting skills to include, learning how to better empathize with children's emotions, and become empowered by the use of community referrals. The SCSS Program's goal is to ensure and promote survivor safety and independence, and to strengthen child resilience.

The Respite Companion Program (RCP) is an employment and training program established by the department which provides part-time community service employment opportunities as Respite Companions for low-income, able-bodied adults age 55 years and older, who assist families provide care for the frail elderly in homes, in adult day care or adult day health centers. RCP is administered by the Department of Human Services, Social Services Division, Adult Protective & Community Services Branch. For those who qualify to be a Respite Companion, benefits include: Minimum wage (up to 19 hours a week); free pre-employment exam and annual physical exam, free bus pass or mileage reimbursement, paid trainings, job readiness counseling and resume writing assistance, free criminal background check. Day at the Beach typically takes place at White Plains Beach on the first Saturday of each month. The Hawai'i Health & Harm Reduction Center serves Hawai'i communities by reducing the harm and fighting the stigma of HIV, hepatitis, homelessness, substance use, mental illness, and poverty in our community. We focus our efforts on those disproportionately affected by social determinants of health, including but not limited to: people living with and/or affected by HIV, hepatitis, substance use, and the transgender, LGBQ and the Native Hawaiian communities. Parent Participation Preschool is a three-phased program for parents to assist in their child's transition from home to school. Each phase requires a different amount of participation.
