These contributions help other nonprofit organizations thrive by expanding their resources, saving them money by reducing overhead costs and helping to increase their efficiency. Our Gifts-In-Kind program connects people with organizations needing specific items through an online "gift-matching" service. Nonprofit organization can post the items or services they are looking for and potential donors can search for an organization seeking their donation.

Housing Assistance Program

(HAP) The Housing Assistance Program (HAP) serves senior adults, aged 60 years or older, who need housing counseling and assistance to find affordable housing. Priority is given to those with the greatest economic and social needs and those facing homelessness. HAP helps to improve and maintain their self-sufficiency and remain in the community by increasing their accessibility to affordable and supported housing and by empowering them to make difficult life transitions. The program provides housing counseling and linkages to housing resources, assistance to remain on housing wait lists, updates of the Oahu Housing Guide list/database, and education and advocacy to promote the development of new affordable, supportive, well-designed rental housing. Gives guidelines on how to make arrangements such as finding a guardian who will care for the pet after the original owner dies, what needs to be included in the pet owner's will and estate plans, how to leave money to fund that pet's life-long care, and information pet owners can gather that will be used to help ease their pet's transition to a new home.

The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance. A paper copy of the application can be downloaded, printed, signed and submitted via US postal mail or dropped off in the drop box. For a PDF of the paper application, visit the website and click on "SNAP (formerly Food Stamps)" from the menu "Benefit, Employment & Support Services (BESSD) SNAP, Financial, Child Care, General Assistance and more". The click on the link "If you are unable to apply online, you may download and print this paper form application – click here". A Drop box is available on site to drop off documents. Relay For Life: You are invited to attend Relay For Life, our annual event to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and give everyone the opportunity to fight back against cancer. Ready to Learn

(Ready To Learn Program, RTL, R2L Program, Ready 2 Learn Program) Ready to Learn (RTL) is a statewide initiative that provides students in need from kindergarten through high school with a backpack filled with new pencils, pens, notebooks and other school supplies with an intended outcome of school readiness. Assistance is provided year round, but the primary period is the summer before each new school year. Application period for school supplies is from March-May, and the distribution of school supplies is in July. If you miss the application period, call the Community Clearinghouse at the number listed at the end of July to see if there are any school supplies left after the primary distribution is done.
