Senior Programs assists seniors in connecting with senior clubs and also assists senior clubs with facilitation of their meetings, organization of special events, scheduling of guest speakers, and provision of health information. Senior Programs also produces a monthly publication to provide seniors valuable resources and information.

The purpose of the Pacific ADA Center is to build a partnership between the disability and business communities and to promote full and unrestricted participation in society for persons with disabilities through education and technical assistance. We can also provide a basic or more advanced training on a range of ADA topics or customize a training to meet the needs of your group or organization.

(National Weather Service Honolulu Forecast Office) Provides 24-hour recorded forecasts for weather, temperature, humidity, marine - Hawaiian waters, coastal conditions, tides, and sunrise/sunset times.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building, basketball, volleyball, tennis courts, and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring, and summer. Activities are for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, sports and games, music and dance, and seasonal events. Registration dates and program period information is published in one of the newspapers the week before registration.

Follow size and weight restrictions: 6 foot and 60 pound maximum for long items and bundles. For single-family homes, place items on the curbside fronting your property. Do not block sidewalks, driveways, drain inlets or roadways. Please note, City crews will not enter private property to retrieve bulky items scheduled for pick up. For multi-family units, items should be placed in common pick-up locations. Contact your resident or property manager to identify these locations. Homeowner Assistance Loans are available to help Native Hawaiian first-time homebuyers purchase land, pay for septic systems, homesites, construction, or down payment and closing costs.

(SHEG) A one time, not ongoing financial assistance for households who are homeless or at-risk for homelessness. Single, couples and families. Provides assistance with rent deposit, first month rent, past due rent, utilities when included with rent or if utility assistance prevents homelessness. Utility assistance for renters only. Utilities assistance to prevent the household from losing their housing or prevent homelessness.

Hina's Legacy Rescue Foundation actively recruits volunteers to assist with rescues, foster care, and community events. We provide comprehensive training to ensure volunteers are prepared to support animals in a meaningful way, whether through hands-on care, helping at adoption events, or educating the public about animal welfare.

(Food Pantry) Dynamic Compassion in Action distributes food boxes to persons in need and persons with low-income. Clothing and household goods are distributed at the same site and during same food pantry hours. Volunteers are accepted, but please call first. We accept donations of clean and gently used small household items and clothing. The food distribution is normally a drive through. For persons who walk in please bring a bag, box or wagon. This is an Ohana Produce Plus Distribution and Senior Food Box Program, Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), a one a month, federal program helping low-income kupuna.

Works in partnership with County Early Childhood Resource Coordinator to promote coordinated early childhood education and care system for children from birth to age eight in the County of Maui. Provides phone consultations, information on early childhood related topics, and referrals to early childhood services. Child care payment subsidies are available to qualified working families, children with parents in school/job training, and retired grandparents raising their grandchildren. Also collaborates with the Department of Education in providing school readiness materials and programs.

Accepts and processes applications for liquor licenses. Enforces rules of the Liquor Control Commission and state liquor laws.

Reopening September 1, 2022, the Honolulu Museum of Art School offers courses in ceramics, printmaking, metalsmithing, textiles, drawing and painting, and a General Survey Art Exploration class. Curriculum is designed for a wide range of abilities, experiences, and expertise. Fall 2022 registration opens online and in-person on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at 10am. Contributing members and above can register one day early.

Responds to complaints relating to environmental air pollution. Processes air permit applications. Processes applications for agricultural burning permits. Conducts inspection of air pollution sources for compliance. Establishes air quality monitoring stations and maintains the data.

(Workforce Development - Maui) Provides job training, placement, and case management services for individuals receiving TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)/VR (Vocational Rehabilitation) assistance.

Issues commercial and individual fishing licenses and permits. Researches the biology, ecology and use of fishery resources. Serves as federal liaison when protected marine animals are stranded. Species include monk seals, sea turtles, whales. Documents ocean and river water pollution incidents such as oil and chemical spills. Conducts public education on marine and fresh water information through community and educational groups.

Issues permits for hiking, hunting and taking of plants from reserve areas. Sells seedlings for Christmas trees, reforestation and wind breaks. Manages public hunting areas, public hiking areas, forest reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, natural areas reserves. Accepts reports of forest pests, including new and unusual weeds and certain birds. Pest reports accepted include: wild pigs, snakes, large lizards, ferrets, the banana poka (a weed), the bulbul (a bird) on neighbor islands, and the mongoose on Kauai.

Provides individual assessment and offers therapy to individuals, couples and families. Conducts group programs including combat trauma, significant others, substance abuse and others depending on needs of clients. Offers crisis assistance and educational/ employment counseling.

(ADAD) Plans, coordinates and implements statewide services relative to alcohol and drug abuse. Certifies substance abuse counselors and program administrators and accredits substance abuse programs. Agency does not provide direct services to the public but funds various private agencies.
