The Red Cross provides disaster response to those affected by disasters in East Hawaii County and shares critical preparedness information to the community so that people can prepare before a disaster strikes. All disaster response and disaster training are provided at no charge. Training classes such as first aid, CPR and Lifeguarding are available for a fee. To request a presentation to your organization, school or group, please call our offices.

Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA) offers referrals to 12-step recovery meetings for people who have a desire to recover from sexually compulsive or addictive behavior. Meetings are located all over the world with the majority being in North America. Meetings are held seven days a week at all times of the day. Meeting formats include face-to-face, telephone, and web-based options. SAA does NOT offer telephone counseling nor is it a “hotline.” Interested parties will be referred to a meeting in his/her area or to a telephone/web-based meeting for assistance.

(Homebase) Fernhurst is a women's residence with a Transitional Housing Program for women. Program entry requires application and interview for eligibility. If accepted, participants must: complete 2 hours of community service per week, check in weekly with the program coordinator, and participate in 2 learning circles and 1 Professional Women's Group. The program serves women on parole and economically disadvantaged women; providing information on the subjects of housing, jobs and personal finance,education and promoting self-sufficiency.

(Lunalilo Home’s Meals-to-Go) We prepare balanced meals using fresh ingredients to meet a third of the Recommended Dietary Allowance for an individual as established by the U.S. Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine, National Academy of Sciences. We can also accommodate special requests for modified and therapeutic meals including: diabetic, low sodium, reduced cholesterol, low potassium, low fat, and low carbohydrate. Lunalilo Home is part of 'Ai Pono, a movement to sustainably feed Hawaii and malama our aina and wai. Lunalilo Home prepares and packages local style, nutritious meals featuring indigenous and locally-sourced ingredients, using fresh herbs and vegetables grown in Lunalilo Home's own garden beds in our farm-to-kupuna program. Our Meals to Go are currently Waimanalo to Kaimuki but we hope to expand in the near future.

Provides customs information on foreign travel, registering articles and duty rates. Inspects baggage of individuals arriving from other countries and collects appropriate duty or tariffs.

Grief workshops and aftercare for those whose loved one was an organ or tissue donor.

(Workforce Development) Provides job training, placement, and case management services for individuals receiving TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)/VR (Vocational Rehabilitation) assistance.

Conducts educational forums about HIV/AIDS. Provides community outreach (culturally and risk factor appropriate). Provides case management services. Provides food assistance when available. HIV testing, STD Testing. Hepatitis B and C testing, PrEP counseling and referrals. Women's Services: Pap smears, birth control. Needle Exchange Smoking Cessation. All information gathered during testing, counseling and intake are kept confidential.

(Mobile Hygiene) Free hot showers. (Colitis and Crohns Disease Support Group) Sponsors support group for people with colitis or Crohn's disease.

Aims to improve educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities. Supports special education professionals and others working on behalf of individuals with exceptionalities. Advocates for appropriate governmental policies. Sets professional standards. Provides continuing professional development. Helps professionals achieve the conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

Meals provided Saint Elizabeth Church on Wednesday and Thursday. Clothing, some personal care items, and counseling may be available on Thursday.

(Hele-On Ka Hoʻokele) Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council's (HCEOC) Transportation Program offers Hawaii Island residents who are elderly, low-income, or disabled access to essential sites such as medical facilities, nutrition sites, shopping centers, banks, post offices, government buildings, and places of employment. Services are based on availability, service areas and road conditions.

Services offered to men and women over the age of 18. Services include substance abuse assessments, intensive outpatient treatment, outpatent treatment, aftercare and individual counseling.

Assists researchers interested in tracing their families. Maintains the following information: 1. FHLC (Family History Library Catalog): Computer-produced catalog describes all the books, films, pamphlets, maps, etc., available at the main library in Salt Lake City. 2. IGI (International Genealogical Index): A worldwide list of names and selected vital data of more than 150 million people. 3. Ancestral File: Is pedigree linked and can be grouped in families. 4. Social Security Death Index: Lists about 38 million deceased persons who had Social Security numbers, and whose deaths were reported to that administration. 5. US Military Index: Index of individuals in the United States military who died, or were declared dead, in Korea or Vietnam (1950-1975). 6. Personal Ancestor File software available for use on computers on library to make your own family records. 7. Hawaii delayed birth records index on computer.

Hawaii Island Community Health Center (HICHC) provides integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health care for the whole ohana. Services include, but are not limited to: primary care, preventative care, women's health, pediatric care, dental, same day visits, mental health care, confidential teen visits, substance use treatment, WIC services, community outreach, and school based health care. We can assist with insurance enrollment.

Provides 24-hour on call emergency services, excluding major trauma. Maintains after hours medical advice line.

(TheHandi-Van, Handi-Van Services) Determine eligibility for curb-to-curb ADA paratransit service for those who cannot use the bus. Vehicles are equipped with wheelchair lifts.

Operates a psychiatric hospital. Provides outpatient counseling, substance abuse treatment programs, and partial hospitalization programs for children, adolescents and adults.

The Lifeline Phone program from Safelink Wireless offered limited data of 10 GB which includes 5 GB of hot spot, unlimited call within the 50 states of the United States of America, and unlimited texting. Your SIM card is mailed to you. You must provide your own phone. The National Verifier can be completed online or via mail.

Provides forms to order a birth certificate, divorce, and marriage certificate. Also provides information to get married.
