(VASH, Travelers Aid of Honolulu) The mission of Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) is to share Aloha with visitors who have been victims of a crime or other adversities, and to provide follow-up assistance and support in an effort to create a positive memory of their stay in our islands. The type of assistance provided varies on a case by case basis. Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii offers assistance and support through information and referrals, emergency ground transportation, and resources for meals and lodging. (Feed the Hunger Fund) Feed The Hunger Fund provides micro loans and networks of support. Feed The Hunger Fund provides loans to low income and underserved individuals with businesses in the food system and directly and in partnership with local organizations. We identify and partner with organizations that are already working with our target populations to add value to the organization's ability to help their community, to ensure that our borrowers have other support services to increase their success, and to build a network that addresses the community's fiscal and physical health. (Ohana Energy Gift Program) The Hawaiian Electric Company Ohana Energy Gift Program allows customers of Hawaiian Electric to make payments toward a designated recipient's electric account. The recipient will receive an acknowledgement letter once the gift amount has been applied to his or her account. Gift givers will receive a confirmation letter once the designated recipient's account information has been verified and the gift amount has been applied.
