Money Fit by DRS - HUD-Approved Housing Counseling Services: Money Fit by DRS offers comprehensive HUD-approved housing counseling and education services to Hawaii residents, assisting with renter concerns, homelessness prevention, homeowner financial management, and fair housing education. Our services include guidance on lease agreements, tenant rights, budgeting, mortgage options, foreclosure prevention, and fair housing laws.

IBOUNCE UP provides facilitated resilience training sessions, interactive skill-building activities, guided reflection, and practical tools participants can apply in daily life. Pre- and post-training surveys are used to measure changes in resilience knowledge, confidence, and skill application. The program is designed to complement, not replace, clinical services by providing accessible, preventive mental health education that strengthens individual and community wellbeing. The Trauma-Informed Mental Resilience Training Curriculum is a structured, evidence-based education program delivered through group sessions at partner sites across Oahu and Kauai and statewide via virtual platforms when appropriate. The curriculum focuses on building emotional regulation, stress management, healthy coping strategies, self-awareness, and interpersonal resilience using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices. The Golden West Chapter hosts a number of annual activities and Community Outreach events in Hawaii. These opportunities raise ALS awareness and funding that help provide valuable care management services to people living with ALS, free of charge, and promote public policy initiatives on behalf of the ALS community in Hawaii. All funds raised in Hawaii are re-invested in Hawaii.

Kokua Harvest is Hawaii Island’s food rescue project. We prevent food waste at its source, build community resilience and connection, and strengthen access to healthy, nutrient-dense fresh fruit and vegetables. We harvest and distribute excess produce to low-income communities throughout Hawaii Island. Through the act of rescuing and sharing food, we connect and nourish our community to build stronger relationships and a deeper appreciation for food. Food rescue (also known as “gleaning”) is the ancient tradition of collecting excess fresh food from farms, gardens, restaurants, or other sources and donating it to those in need. It is a successful model for reducing the waste of valuable produce, and it gives low-income individuals access to fresh and locally-grown foods that are not always available in their communities. Hawaii is fortunate to have a year-round growing season and a long cultural tradition of sharing and growing food. Still, every year thousands of pounds of fresh fruit and vegetables go to waste on farms large and small. Backyard fruit trees and excess garden produce also go unharvested. The Hawaii Internet Crime Against Childrent (ICAC) Task Force is part of a cooperative nationwide network of ICAC Task Forces that are dedicated to protecting children in the online environment. In order to accomplish this goal, our ICAC Task Force makes internet education and safety programs and information available for Hawaii's children, teachers, and parents. If prevention efforts fail, Hawaii's ICAC Task Force is ready to vigorously investigate and prosecute persons who victimize children through the use of computers and the internet.

Accredits and supports 115 CF care centers nationwide to provide high-quality, specialized care for those with CF. Provides referrals and information regarding CF to the general public. Supports extensive clinical trials to test new drug therapies for people with CF. Provides a variety of grants to scientists to conduct CF research.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. (Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program.
