(HCAP STEM) The Ha Initiative: Creative STEM After-School Program is a free Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) after-school program for youth in grades 2-8. The program provides year-round tutoring, mentorship, and fun STEM activities in a safe after-school setting at five STEM Exploration Center locations on Oʻahu.

(Hawaii Childrens Action Network) We invest in Hawaii's children by helping create sustainable solutions to poverty and inequity. Poverty alleviation starts at birth. The learning gap between advantaged and disadvantaged children shows up as early as 9 month of age. We advocate for policies that help narrow that gap. We believe all children deserve a safe place to call home. Hawaii's lack of paid family leave forces families to choose their families during their time of need, or keep their jobs. We advocate for policies that support our families and businesses, build coalitions among non-profit organizations, create partnerships with businesses, and mobilize individuals and communities.

The Kauai Red Cross provides disaster response to those affected by disasters in Kauai County and shares critical preparedness information to the community so that people can prepare before a disaster strikes. All disaster response and disaster training are provided at no charge. Training classes such as first aid, CPR and lifeguarding are available for a fee. Everyone under one roof can apply for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) assistance. Typically, FEMA allows only one applicant per household or address to apply for Housing Assistance. If FEMA says you are ineligible for assistance because someone at your address has already applied, you can appeal. Tell us you need your own application. If you appeal, it won’t take help away from someone else. Ask FEMA for help when writing your appeal. Call or speak to FEMA as a Disaster Recovery Center. Send FEMA a signed letter explaining that your damaged home was your primary residence during the August 8, 2023 wildfires. Also explain that your application represents a separate household from the original applicant using the same address. Deadline to apply for the Maui wildfires has been extended to December 11, 2023. --Understanding your FEMA Letter-- Hawaii residents who registered for FEMA assistance for the wildfires that began sweeping across Maui August 8, 2023 will receive a determination letter from FEMA. In some cases, the letter may say you are ineligible for assistance. This is not a denial. It is important to read the letter carefully. It will include the amount of assistance FEMA may provide and information on how you can use your disaster assistance funds. The letter will also explain your application status and it will give you information about what to do to appeal FEMA’s decision. Your letter might also ask you to send additional information or supporting documentation for FEMA to continue reviewing your application. For example, you may be asked to send one or more of the following:

• Proof of insurance coverage
• Settlement of insurance claims or denial letter from insurance provider
• Proof of identity
• Proof of occupancy
• Proof of ownership
• Proof that the damaged property was the applicant’s primary residence at the time of the disaster.

If you are one of multiple families living in the same residence, each family within the household may be eligible for assistance. Your landlord will be required to provide a written statement or agreement that clearly says you had a lease agreement in place before the disaster. You can also provide old rent receipts, bank transactions or checks showing you paid rent to the landlord. These receipts must be dated within three months of the fires. In other words, they must be dated between May 8, 2023 and August 8, 2023. If you have questions about your FEMA determination letter, call the FEMA Helpline at (800) 621-3362. Specialists are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Help is available in most languages. If you use a relay service such as Video Relay Service, captioned telephone service or others, give FEMA your number for that service when you apply.

(Ka'u Hospital) Operates acute and SN/IC (Skilled Nursing/Intermediate Care) nursing facility and other medical services. Provides laboratory services and diagnostic imaging services. Operates a 24-hour emergency room.

(MEO, MEO Core 4 Business Planning Class) Offers a 30-hour course that helps individuals analyze business opportunity and plan success. The course guides individuals in the development of a realistic, achievable plan for a business. It is helpful for prospective entrepreneurs as well as existing small business owners.

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) provides trusted resources such as the annually updated Standards of Care in Diabetes, advances research and education through initiatives like Scientific Sessions, and supports youth and families through programs like Camp He Ola Ke Keiki and the upcoming Project Power Youth. We also advocate for safe and inclusive schools through the Safe at School program, engage the public through events such as the Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes and the State of Diabetes Hawaii. We connect local communities to culturally relevant resources like the ADA Food Hub.

(Isolation/Quarantine Orders) For university students attending University of Hawaii campuses across the state, such as UHM, Chaminade University, and Hawaii Pacific University: University students from out-of-state who are studying on Oahu and Kauai can participate in modified quarantine procedures that create a so-called ""modified quarantine bubble"" (MQB) The MQB allows these students to avoid the standard 14-day quarantine when courses begin in the fall semester. (Students began moving into UHM residence halls on Monday, August 17, and courses begin on Monday, August 24.) The MQB includes the following requirements: -All students planning to participate in the MQB must have tested negative for COVID-19, either within 72 hours of their departure when they flew to Hawaii or within 48 hours of their arrival in Hawaii. -Anyone not receiving a negative test must follow the mandatory 14-day quarantine for all travelers to Hawaii. (MEO) Assists individuals and families with farm work experience to obtain year round full-time employment. The program provides pre-employment training, work experience, on-the-job training, and support services.

Operates a toll-free line to register complaints concerning matters within FAA's jurisdiction, e.g. carry on baggage, child safety seats, or user services provided by FAA, including pilot examinations, aircraft certification and facility operations. To report complaints on safety violations, such as planes flying to low, call the Flights Standards District Office.

Rainbow Mililani opened in 1987. We are located in the heart of Mililani Town on the grounds of the Christ Lutheran Church , although we are not affiliated with any religious denomination. Our program is licensed by the State of Hawaii. We offer services to 60 children ranging in age from 3 to 5 years old. Licensed by the State of Hawaii Department of Human Service and nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). All staff meet State licensing requirements. We accept DHS – Child Care Connection, Open Door, First-to-Work, Kamehameha Schools’ Keiki Pauahi Scholars Program, and Federal subsidies. All tuition payments are done through the FACTS Tuition Management program. Your child’s Form 14, current TB clearance and DHS 908 Form are required upon acceptance into the school. Parents are also responsible for a non-refundable registration fee of $175 upon acceptance. If there are no availabilities, your child’s application will be placed on the center’s waitlist. Maintains a sanitary and healthful environment through prevention, inspection, education, and enforcement activities. Inspects food and food service establishments, milk plants, frozen dessert manufacturing plants, dairy farms, hotels and other multi-dwelling units, adult family care homes, intermediate care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, public swimming pools, barber and beauty shops, mortuaries, embalmers, tattoo parlors and artists, massage parlors and other general public health nuisances.

AmeriCorps NCCC includes two routes: traditional and FEMA. Traditional Corps teams partner with local and national organizations to complete hands-on projects in a designated region of the country. Serve for 10 months as a Corps Member and gain a variety of professional experiences. Educate communities on sustainability and energy conservation, restore and build hiking trails, or build homes. Or serve for 11 months as a Team Leader and guide members through this transformative service experience. FEMA Corps Teams serve nationally under Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) direction to complete administrative projects related to disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery. Serve for 12 months and rack up professional skills that are highly transferable. Coordinate with nonprofits and government agencies, plan response and relief efforts during a disaster, or conduct damage assessments after a disaster. Team Leaders also serve for 12 months in FEMA Corps.

A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

(Hawaii State Health Insurance Assistance Program, SHIP, SAGE Plus) Provides statewide planning, coordination and evaluation of all programs on aging. Issues grants to counties and demonstration grants for aging needs. Resolves complaints by residents in nursing and care homes. Provides information and referral.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. Nourishing supplemental foods: Checks to buy healthy foods such as: Milk, Peanut butter, Fruits and vegetables, Canned tuna or salmon, Juice, Whole grain breads, tortillas, Eggs or brown rice, Cheese, Baby foods, Cereal Infant formula, Dry beans or peas, Tofu, and soy milk Health and social service referrals: Help in finding health care and other community services.
