(Domestic Violence Shelter, Domestic Abuse Shelter - Hilo) Domestic Abuse Shelters provide a safe haven for abused partners and their children. It is a time-out period for abused partners to learn about the dynamics of domestic violence, the cycle of abuse and how to develop a "safety plan". It is also a time for learning about and making choices; discovering that they are not at fault for the abuse; building self-esteem and learning self-empowerment. The Domestic Abuse Shelters help families and children escape from domestic violence and establish independent lives. The shelter offers up to 120 days of a safe haven, basic needs (food, clothing etc.), counseling and services for children. Program participants learn dynamics of domestic violence, develop safety plans, improve self-esteem and learn healthy parenting skills. Children develop safety plans and learn they’re not responsible for domestic violence. The shelters offer: -Domestic violence crisis hotline -Lodging and food -Crisis counseling -Individual counseling -Educational workshops -Support groups -Information, referral & advocacy -Children's program -Tutors for children not able to attend school -Assistance with obtaining a TRO, Housing and financial aid -Volunteer program The Domestic Abuse Shelters (DAS) provide victims of domestic violence and their families with a safe haven of temporary shelter, provision for basic needs (food, clothing etc.), counseling and services for children. Keauhou ("a new beginning") provides private rooms for homeless or at-risk individuals and couples with shared bathrooms per floor. Services include housing placement assistance, job training, assistance obtaining documents (State ID, Social Security Card, etc.), mail services. Offers college programs and classes, students can transfer to UH Manoa, UH West Hawaii and UH Hilo upon completion of the associate and arts degree at Hawaii Community College and other requirements. The Student Services office provides information on financial aid, program requirements, distance learning, admissions, tuition, student rights, registration, and other academic regulations. The UH Center at West Hawaii coordinates access to courses and programs from University of Hawaii system.

(Mothers Milk) Hawaii Mothers' Milk, Inc. (HMMI) is a comprehensive breastfeeding resource center, for both families and health professionals in the State of Hawaii. HMMI provides services to new mothers statewide through our telephone warmline, individualized breastfeeding counseling, rentals and sales of hospital grade and/or home purchase breast pumps and supplies. Seeking volunteers to assist with clerical and other nonpatient duties. Donations accepted. This program offers lactation counseling and breastfeeding support, breast pump rentals, and breast pump sales.

Provides opportunities for youth socialization, recreation, education and cultural awareness in a safe and positive environment. Offers camping trips, ceramic, computer and graphics, cooking, creative writing classes; dodgeball, Hawaiiana - hula, music, language-library visits, pool table, study hall, tennis, volleyball, weightlifting, windsurfing lessons and woodworking. (Ohana Energy Gift Program) The Hawaiian Electric Company Ohana Energy Gift Program allows customers of Hawaiian Electric to make payments toward a designated recipient's electric account. The recipient will receive an acknowledgement letter once the gift amount has been applied to his or her account. Gift givers will receive a confirmation letter once the designated recipient's account information has been verified and the gift amount has been applied. Ohana Energy Gifts are not tax deductible donations. The gifts may be anonymous, or the gift giver may choose to also send a special acknowledgement card with a personalized message. The Medical Reserve Corps in Hawaii is an all volunteer group with many different skill sets. The Hawaii MRC needs volunteers who have medical and non-medical backgrounds who want to serve their local communities during public health emergencies or large scale emergency response events.

HHHRC offers ongoing, free, non-judgmental wound care services in our office and in a street-based setting. The clinic provides basic wound care that can be managed in a community setting, which inludes, but is not limited to: -Simple i&Ds that were preformed at the bedside and/or were discharged from the ED -Typical level 4 or 5 patients (based on triage acuity) -Patients appropriate for outpatient setting needing follow-up -Patients with chronic wounds without evidence of acute infection and not requiring IV antibiotics -Dermis layer or subcutaneous layer wounds that do not require debridement -Cellulitis patients without SIRS and reliable to follow-up -Dressing changes with discharge orders

The Army Community Service's Exceptional Family Member Program assists service members and their families with connecting them to community resources, coordinates special events/activities and advocates for families.

Bus Passes and Handi-Van Coupons - availability is limited to those in active treatment. Taxicab - limited trips for those that are unable to access volunteers, bus or handi-van. Air Fare interisland and mainland - for patients not covered by other insurance coverage. Reduced rate lodging - at hotels in Hawaii for patients who must travel for treatment. Hope lodge - free overnight housing for patients traveling to the mainland for treatment.
