Money Fit by DRS - HUD-Approved Housing Counseling Services: Money Fit by DRS offers comprehensive HUD-approved housing counseling and education services to Hawaii residents, assisting with renter concerns, homelessness prevention, homeowner financial management, and fair housing education. Our services include guidance on lease agreements, tenant rights, budgeting, mortgage options, foreclosure prevention, and fair housing laws.

Provides volunteer training and volunteer opportunities. Volunteer tasks include kitchen preparation for food/cooking, cleaning, sorting, packing food, maintenance, repair and office work.

Manage County Flood Plan management program. Plan, design & inspect county civil engineering projects. Provides information on flood zones. Process permit applications for grading, grubbing, stockpiling & work within county right-of-ways. Review development of civil engineering projects (private & public). Provides child care and extended child care for preschool - teen (3-18 years old). Provides before and after school care for children. (SNAP Outreach, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program Outreach, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach) The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. Hawaii Foodbank Oahu’s SNAP outreach program helps with completing SNAP applications over the phone. In-person assistance is available by appointment only.

(Food Pantry) Parents And Children Together (PACT) provides a food pantry with essential staples for individuals and families at the Family Center in Kuhio Park Terrace. Intake is valid for one year.

(Ready To Learn Program, RTL, R2L Program, Ready 2 Learn Program) Ready to Learn (RTL) is a statewide initiative that provides students in need from kindergarten through high school with a backpack filled with new pencils, pens, notebooks and other school supplies with an intended outcome of school readiness. Assistance is provided year round, but the primary period is the summer before each new school year. Application period for school supplies is from March-May, and the distribution of school supplies is in July. If you miss the application period, call the Community Clearinghouse at the number listed at the end of July to see if there are any school supplies left after the primary distribution is done.

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Kukui Center was designed and renovated to meet the need to provide an easily identified and specialized place where abused, vulnerable and disadvantaged children and their families can receive the help they need. Professional and volunteer help is available elsewhere throughout our community but in many different locations. Even when needed, the follow through on referrals can be poor as parents and young adults are often overwhelmed by the demands of their daily lives. Housing a variety of services together is more user friendly for children, youth and families and will help insure they can access the strong community support that is available.

Assisting in helping those interested in running a child care business to becoming licensed by the State of Hawaii. Providing guidance regarding setting up a child care business. Providing free training on child development, nutrition, health and safety issues. Providing information about resources available to providers, such as the USDA Child Care Food Program that assists in paying for meals served in daycare. Referring parents who are looking for child care to licensed child care providers. Maintaining connections with child care providers, professional child care associations, and other child care professionals as well as helping others build those relationships in the community. Conducts forestry research in Hawaii and Pacific Basin islands. Studies ecosystem restoration, species trials and agroforestry studies. (The Actors Group) The Actors' Group (TAG) is a small but active Community Theatre. Our seating capacity is 55 to 60 seats. We are located in the Dole Cannery Square Mall. We produce 6 to 7 plays each season (September through August) These are all straight plays, we do not do musicals because our theater is so small. Everyone at TAG is a volunteer. And we are always looking for volunteers to help in every aspect of the theater.

The State of Hawaii Department of Taxation - Hawaii District collects State taxes, provides information and assistance on preparation of certain tax forms, issues general excise tax licenses, and furnishes State tax forms.

Investigates and takes enforcement action against illegal discharges into the City's storm drain system. Issues permits for various effluent discharges in to City's drainage system. Conducts a storm water sampling and monitoring program. Reviews effective Best Management Practices (BMP) for discharges into city's drainage system.

(Hawaii County PAL) Provides athletic programs and counseling for children under 17 years of age who have behavioral problems and tending towards crime.

Maintains information resources, i.e. books, magazines, musical recordings, video and audio tapes, State and County government documents and Hawaiiana materials. Provides fax service to send messages to State legislators. Provides access to wi-fi and telephone reference service.
