Kane Connections provides 1:1 and group support for men in the Maui community. While we encourage the participation of fathers or male caregivers (grandpa, uncle etc..) all men are invited to participate in the Kane Connections Program. Kane Connections offers the following services: 1:1 support via in person visits at our office, at your home, or in the community. Hui Kane our Monday night mens group held at Hale Makana. Kamalama, a 12 week parenting class for men and their partner/co-parent based on Hawaiian Values and rooted in the understanding that parents are their children's first teachers.

Provides assistance and advice to start or operate a business in the State of Hawaii. Issues government licenses and permits to start a business, such as general excise tax licenses, business and trade name registration and employer registration. Offers information on business assistance, alternative financing, counseling and workshops provided by other agencies.

(ATV, YWCA of Kauai Alternatives to Violence) Provides psycho-education and support designed to interrupt the cycle of violence. Assists clients with anger management. Encourages, teaches and advocates non-violent behaviors. Available as a resource in the community for speakers and presentations.

(ECS, Nā Lima Hana Employment Core Services - Leahi District) The Na Lima Hana Employment Core Services program provides employment preparation training, personalized case management services, tuition assistance for vocational training, and job placement for unemployed and underemployed individuals. (Easter Seals Hawaii Hilo Home and Community Based Services Program) At Easterseals Hawaii, we offer a comprehensive set of services for adults with disabilities and their families. We work to empower our clients to become more independent and participate fully in the communities where they live, work, and play. Services are delivered with dignity, passion, and the ultimate goal of self-determination. Program focus areas are enhancing independence, person-centered planning, social skills and enrichments, community integration and access, employment skills, personal care, and daily living skills. Adult Home and Community-based Services include group and individual services; employment services, Adult Day Health (ADH), Community Learning Service (CLS), Community Learning Service-Individual (CLS-I) for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as autism and down syndrome.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. Nourishing supplemental foods: Checks to buy healthy foods such as: Milk, Peanut butter, Fruits and vegetables, Canned tuna or salmon, Juice, Whole grain breads, tortillas, Eggs or brown rice, Cheese, Baby foods, Cereal Infant formula, Dry beans or peas, Tofu, and soy milk Health and social service referrals: Help in finding health care and other community services.

(Hawaii Agricultural Statistics Branch) Conducts surveys and makes estimates of state agricultural production and value. Compiles data by county and state. Distributes statistics to farmers, farm organizations, government officials, related agencies and agri-businesses.

(Pauahi Rec Center) Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for adults and seniors, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games, and exercises, music, martial arts, and seasonal activities. Elderly lunch available through Lanakila Rehabilitation. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.

Supports medical research into the causes, treatment, and prevention of diseases of the bones, muscles, joints, and skin. Provides free printed educational materials as well as referrals to major professional and voluntary health organizations.

The program provides job training, placement, and case management services for individuals receiving VR (Vocational Rehabilitation) assistance.

Provides leadership, coordination, and resources to address prevention planning, to develop and implement strategies/interventions, and to conduct evaluations supporting the goal of a tobacco-free Hawaii. Initiates new legislation regarding the issues of smoking and tobacco use. Monitors and handles information and complaints regarding existing statutes. Provides information on the Hawaii Smoke-Free Law.

Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

(Access Line, Suicide Line, Suicide Prevention Line, Hawaii CARES) Formerly known as the ACCESS Line, the Crisis Line of Hawaii is a warm-line operating 24 hours, 7 days a week. Provides mental health treatment services to person with serious, persistent mental illness, person in severe acute mental health crisis, person experiencing stress from disasters. Also provides outreach dispatch, access into Hawaii State Hospital and schedules mental health assessment appointments. Sponsors annual Honolulu Marathon (26.2 mile race) which is classified as the 3rd largest international marathon in the United States. Comprised of seven professionals who donate their time to the world class international marathon. Department of Parks and Recreation sponsors a 9-month training clinic, with various running groups, that culminates in the marathon run.
