(Childrens Advocacy Center of West Hawaii) Provides a safe, neutral place for child abuse investigations by trained interviewers who are specialists in child abuse and neglect. In order to minimize the number of interviews, proceedings can be videotaped and/or audiotaped. Provides training for professionals in interviewing children in order to provide a neutral, professional investigation. Coordinates civil and criminal court actions. Coordinates the activities of all agencies involved with the child.

Hawaii Agricultural Foundation provides teacher trainings. Teacher trainings for Tower Power are now active in 24 schools statewide. The program is now expanding to Hawaii Island. Tower Power gives students a hands-on, ag-tech and vertical farming lab-based experience using indoor aeroponic towers to grow and care for plants from seed to harvest in grade 6-8 classrooms. Through four dynamic learning units, students explore plant science, sustainability, and the future of farming while discovering how vertical growing systems can transform food production. The program includes a comprehensive teacher resource manual, ready-to-use classroom materials, and monthly virtual check-ins that cover timely topics, address teacher interests, and foster collaboration and idea-sharing among educators.

Maintains a national information center for those affected by anxiety disorders, including Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social anxiety Disorder, and specific phobias. Provides referrals to local treatment providers and local support groups, and provides information on these and related disorders. Publishes an E-Newsletter, Triumph, and detailed pamphlets. Promotes public awareness and education with media campaigns and events. Sponsors an annual conference to encourage researchers in the field of anxiety disorders to share their findings, and funds research.

School-based programs are during or after-school and conducted in collaboration with school counselors. Programs offer therapeutic peer support groups that follow the Hawaii Department of Education (HDOE) public school calendar. Kids Hurt Too Hawaii (KHTH) is expanding school-based groups upon request from schools. Requirements include a dedicated therapeutic space for conducting groups at the school. KHTH provides the supplies and set-up as well as trains volunteers to assist if allowed with professional staff available at every group. Currently at Paia and Nanakuli. The program is expanding to other schools upon request. Currently helping elementary school aged children.

(PAS) Patient Assistance Services assists patients with completing applications for medical insurance and medication assistance with the State Med-QUEST program, Medicaid, Medicare, Sliding Scale Fee, Federal Health Insurance Marketplace, etc, assists patients in coordinating interpreting services, and provides homeless outreach and home visits to complete applications.

Administers the agricultural and aquaculture loan programs. Promotes diversified agriculture.

Provides referrals and consumer education to families for state licensed child care homes and centers (preschools and infant/toddler centers) for children aged birth to 5 years of age, including after school care for up to 12 years of age. Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose, open pavilion building and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Hospice Maui provides hospice care to maximize the comfort and dignity of those in their last months or weeks of life, in whatever setting they reside or in our Hospice Maui Hale. Unlike other forms of care that focus only on the patient’s physical needs, Hospice Maui also provides emotional and spiritual support for the patient and loved ones, as well as bereavement support for an entire year after the death.

Cancer Survivors Network: Online community created for survivors and caregivers to connect with others, visit www.cancer.org Gift Items: A limited supply of wigs, hats, turbans, scarves and breast prostheses are available by appointment. These items are received by the local offices by donations from others and through our TLC Catalog. Support Groups: The office is a clearinghouse of information on local self-help and support groups that provide emotional and educational help. Patients and caregivers also are invited to visit the Cancer Survivors' Network at www.cancer.org . Relay For Life: You are invited to attend Relay For Life, our annual event to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and give everyone the opportunity to fight back against cancer.
