(Friends of Mokuula) Friends of Moku'ula Inc. assists in historic preservation and restoration of culturally significant Native Hawaiian sites in the Waine'e Ahupua'a area of Lahaina moku, including Moku'ula, a sacred island buried under a ballpark, and Mokuhinia pond wetlands. Programs include: educational programs for community, historical and cultural tours for visitors, historic site restoration, archaeology, Hawaiian cultural training, historical archive research.

(PATCH POD Program) The Preschool Open Doors (POD) program provides families with low and moderate incomes subsidies to send their children to preschool for up to two years prior to entering kindergarten.

The Respite Companion Program (RCP) is an employment and training program established by the department which provides part-time community service employment opportunities as Respite Companions for low-income, able-bodied adults age 55 years and older, who assist families provide care for the frail elderly in homes, in adult day care or adult day health centers. RCP is administered by the Department of Human Services, Social Services Division, Adult Protective & Community Services Branch. For those who qualify to be a Respite Companion, benefits include: Minimum wage (up to 19 hours a week); free pre-employment exam and annual physical exam, free bus pass or mileage reimbursement, paid trainings, job readiness counseling and resume writing assistance, free criminal background check. (Hale Hoomalu) Provides services to individuals who are experiencing domestic violence or threatened with same. Offers assistance in obtaining temporary restraining orders (TRO) and complying with related court appearances. Provides court advocacy and support. Offers protective services for families with abused or neglected children through the TRO process (if applicable). Provides psycho-educational groups (both court ordered and voluntary) to men who batter. Provides on-going support groups for victims of domestic violence.

(CFS Gerontology Program - Ohana Care) Caregivers who provide the primary care to individuals who are disabled, frail, and/or isolated residents on Oahu, who are 60 years of age or older, on an as needed basis are eligible for case management, counseling, and training services. Training topics may include: ADL/ADL limitations, caregiver’s role, disease prevention and remediation, access to available resources, stages of disease and options/ referrals in legal or financial related matters, RCI-REACH, and Arthritis Foundation related training. Staff will also provide information and referral sources when needed. Designed to improve the quality of life for families, care receivers, and caregivers by offering a continuum of quality care that is flexible and individualized in order to prolong the care giving relationship. The program actively assists the care receiver and the caregiver in implementing an individualized, strengths based service plan on how to reduce stress and link with the appropriate community resources. The program also provides supportive counseling.
