Our Honolulu site was opened in 1996 and is located on the 1st floor of the Prince Kuhio Federal Building. Rainbow School Honolulu has an Infant/Toddler program which is licensed for 15 infants and toddlers. Our Preschool program is licensed for 75 children ages 2-5 years old. Rainbow School, Inc. in Agreement with the US General Services Administration, provides childcare services to Federal employees who are given priority and the general public. We are licensed by the State of Hawaii and all staff meet State licensing requirements. We accept DHS – Child Care Connection, Open Door, First-to-Work, Kamehameha Schools’ Keiki Pauahi Scholars Program, and Federal subsidies. All tuition payments are done through the FACTS Tuition Management program. Your child’s Form 14, current TB clearance and DHS 908 Form are required upon acceptance into the school. Parents are also responsible for a non-refundable registration fee of $175 upon acceptance. If there are no availabilities, your child’s application will be placed on the center’s waitlist. Provides limited transportation (call for further information) and home-delivered meals to eligible participants.

Language classes, chorus, yoga, hula (adults), lei making, and AA groups for adults and youth, Hawaiiana Summer Program, African dance, creative arts, Farmer's Market, and Driver's Education offered. (Easter Seals Hawaii Home and Community-Based Services, Easter Seals Hawaii Honolulu Services Center Adult Day Health Program) Adult Day Health (ADH) focuses on providing a small group environment that fosters growth, and challenges the adult participant to increase independence in a variety of community settings. Emphasis is placed on individual choice, allowing adults to pursue opportunities that match their interests and skills while promoting their dignity and independence. The program provides daily respite for individual and family caregivers as well as provides participants with educational, social, health and recreational opportunities. ADH participants have a full-range of activities to choose from including: the option to go on daily excursions, enjoy art programs, volunteer in the community, attend computer classes with the aid of assistive technology, learn money skills, participate in weekly hula classes or give back to the community through recycling programs. HawaiiKidsCAN and Air Tutors team up to bring students to grade level and beyond. The collaboration ensures that students in Hawaii are matched to an expert educator that will focus on advancing their skill sets and growing them as individuals. Kids 5 years old - 13 years old (Grade K-8th) can receive tutoring in Math and English. Kids 14 years old - 18 years old (Grade 9th-12th) can receive tutoring in Math and English. Access to the internet and a computer or some other device are required to attend the online tutoring sessions. Math sessions are on Monday and Wednesday. English sessions on Tuesday and Thursday. This is a free program as scholarships are being provided for the Spring 2024 session. Hawaii Tutoring has rebranded as Hawaii Tutoring+, as we now are planning to offer digital literacy support for members of the whole family, including parents and kupuna.

Early Childhood Services are provided to children three to six years old with delays in which age appropriate milestones are not yet met. These children typically fall outside the scope of the Department of Education & Special Education Services. The needs of each child are met through professional therapeutic services designed for the child to help them thrive in their home, preschool and community. Our goal is to better prepare the child for kindergarten and beyond by using family engagement techniques and strategies.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. Keiki also develop social, intellectual, leadership and perceptual motor skills through classroom lessons, field trips, cultural activities, performance opportunities and community service. Applications for the 2021-2022 school year are still being accepted based on availability, priority application period for the 2022-2023 school year is November 1st through March 1st. The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Kukui Center was designed and renovated to meet the need to provide an easily identified and specialized place where abused, vulnerable and disadvantaged children and their families can receive the help they need. Professional and volunteer help is available elsewhere throughout our community but in many different locations. Even when needed, the follow through on referrals can be poor as parents and young adults are often overwhelmed by the demands of their daily lives. Housing a variety of services together is more user friendly for children, youth and families and will help insure they can access the strong community support that is available.

The Intake, Information and Referral department provides Information and Referral to the specific programs for those who are eligible.

Administers public service program for volunteers from community groups, churches, or businesses who agree to pick up litter on a section of highway their organization has adopted. Volunteers pick up litter on the specified section of highway at least four times a year. Provides high visibility vests, trash bags and safety information for volunteers. Removes filled bags and heavy hazardous items from roadsides. Erects signs on the highways to recognize volunteers' cleaning efforts.
