(Wendys Wonderful Kids - Adoption Services) Wendy’s Wonderful Kids offers proactive, child-focused recruitment of adoptive families for children who have been placed in long-term foster care. Sponsored by the Dave Thomas Foundation, this unique program provides intensive social work services to find the best adoptive home for a child by exploring all facets of the child’s family, school, and friendship circles, as well as recruiting families from the broader community. Goals: • Increase the number of foster children placed with loving, adoptive or guardianship families in Hawaii • Develop supportive and warm relationships with children waiting to be adopted/legal guardianship • Provide information and resources to prospective and adoptive/guardianship parents • Increase community awareness of foster care adoption • Streamline the adoption process • Improve the quality of life for children in the permanent care of the Hawaii • State Department of Human Services by providing a “forever” family in Hawaii

(VASH - Kauai) Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) provides supportive services to meet the immediate and urgent needs of visitors to Hawaii Island who are victimized by crime, have medical emergencies, or suffer other adversities during their stay. Immediate needs may include assistance with canceling credit cards, providing emergency transportation, or garnering resources (soliciting donations) for food and lodging. VASH relies heavily on donations and community support. When needed resources are not readily available, we will make requests and network with other agencies to try and meet needs.

Provides part-time volunteer work with stipend for low income senior citizens to work with special or exceptional needs persons at institutions, schools, day care centers, etc. Duties may involve reading, literacy activities, tutoring. Volunteers receive a stipend.

Parents And Children Together's (PACT) HEART and Soul program provides group programs and mentoring services for children typically between the ages of 5 years old - 21 years old who have experienced sexual abuse. Supportive services assist youth in their healing process, guiding them toward a successful transition to adulthood. Group programs are also available for siblings and parents/caregivers. Hoa Aina O Makaha (HAOM) provides Kupuna U-Pick event where students from Papahana o Kaiona will lead activities on the farm including harvesting, sugarcane juice refresher, recipe sharing, and value-added products. Kupuna 55 years or older are welcome to connect, learn, and enjoy this time with youth from Waianae and the HAOM staff. Bring your moopuna! This event is free and open to all kūpuna in our community.
