Kane Connections provides 1:1 and group support for men in the Maui community. While we encourage the participation of fathers or male caregivers (grandpa, uncle etc..) all men are invited to participate in the Kane Connections Program. Kane Connections offers the following services: 1:1 support via in person visits at our office, at your home, or in the community. Hui Kane our Monday night mens group held at Hale Makana. Kamalama, a 12 week parenting class for men and their partner/co-parent based on Hawaiian Values and rooted in the understanding that parents are their children's first teachers.
Mentorship
Common Grace facilitates partnerships between public elementary schools and nearby neighborhood churches in order to provide mentors for at-risk children. Volunteers goes through our basic training seminar that we have through out the school year. We look for mentors that have willing and loving hearts ready to be a friend to the kids at the local elementary school.

The Hawaiian Council has been contracted to administer the Office of Hawaiian Affairs
program which provides general financial assistance to help Native Hawaiian homeowners and renters recover from the Kona Low Weather Events, the storms and floods occurring in March 2026.
Native Hawaiian homeowners (owner occupied) may receive up to $15,000. Native Hawaiian renters may receive up to $7,500.
Assistance is limited to 1 award per address. Note: Some homeowner and renter households may both qualify.
What counts as damage?
Major Damage means the home is Not safe to live in or Requires major repairs.
Destroyed means the home is a total loss or cannot be repaired.

United States Small Business Administration (US SBA) provides:
-Up to $2 million to qualified businesses or most private nonprofit organizations to cover disaster losses not fully covered by insurance
-Covers disaster losses not fully covered by insurance or other sources. If required to apply insurance proceeds to an outstanding mortgage on the damaged property, that amount can be included in your disaster loan application.
-Proceeds from insurance coverage on business property may be deducted from the eligible loan amount.
Use of proceeds
Loan proceeds may be used for the repair or replacement of the following: Real property, machinery, equipment, fixtures, inventory, or leasehold improvements.
Disaster loan funds may not be used to upgrade or expand a business, except as required by building codes. If you apply for mitigation assistance, https://www.sba.gov/funding-programs/disaster-assistance/mitigation-assistance, to make improvements that help reduce the risk of future property damage, you may be eligible for up to a 20% loan amount increase above the real estate damage, as verified by SBA.
Terms
-First payment deferred for 12 months
-No interest accrual for the first 12 months
For applicants unable to obtain credit elsewhere: The interest rate will not exceed 4%.
For applicants who can obtain credit elsewhere: The interest rate will not exceed 8%.
SBA will determine whether an applicant can obtain credit elsewhere.
Maturity
-Up to 30 years, depending on ability to repay the loan
-No pre-payment penalty or fees
Collateral requirements
-Collateral is required to the extent possible for physical damage loans over $50,000 in Presidential declarations and $14,000 in agency declarations.
-Real estate is the preferred collateral. Loans of $200,000 or less will not require the owner of the business to use their primary residence as collateral if it is determined the owner has other assets of equal quality and of a value equal to or greater than the amount of the loan.
