Guide Dogs of Hawaii provides ongoing Orientation and Mobility (O and M) training, guide dog veterinary care, and nutritional support. We also assist individuals in preparing for their guide dog training to increase their chances of success.

The Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped serves as the regional library and machine lending agency for the blind and physically disabled throughout the state and the outlying Pacific Islands in cooperation with the Library of Congress and the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicaped. BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download) - Digital audio books and magazines are available for download from t he National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. The Hana Like Home Visitor Program works with families to provide supportive coaching to teach strategies that enhance the parent or caregiver’s skills to provide a safe, healthy, nurturing environment for children ages birth to 3 years old. Two main programs make up the foundation of Abilities Unlimited - the Medicaid Waiver Program and the Employment Program: -Medicaid Waiver Program serves individuals with disabilities referred by the State of Hawaii Department of Health Developmental Disabilities Division, offering personal assistance/habilitation services, adult day health services, and employment services for medicaid waiver clients. -Employment Program serves clients referred by the State of Hawaii Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), assisting individuals with disabilities and other barriers to gain and maintain employment. (VASH, Travelers Aid of Honolulu) The mission of Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) is to share Aloha with visitors who have been victims of a crime or other adversities, and to provide follow-up assistance and support in an effort to create a positive memory of their stay in our islands. The type of assistance provided varies on a case by case basis. Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii offers assistance and support through information and referrals, emergency ground transportation, and resources for meals and lodging. Assistance is also provided with changes to travel plans and for emotional support. We do not pay for airline tickets, hotel stays, medical or dental expenses, and funeral expenses.

(Puuhonua Prison Program - Pre/Post-Release Assistance to Oahu Offenders, Pu'uhonua Prison Program - Pre/Post-Release Assistance to Oahu Offenders) Puuhonua Prison Program helps incarcerated men and women navigate through the challenges of re-entering society, which includes avoiding homelessness, becoming rehabilitated, securing employment, and avoiding recidivism. Program participants receive help obtaining MedQUEST health insurance, SNAP/financial assistance, Goodwill clothing vouchers, bus passes, and referrals to shelter/housing resources and prospective employers. Puuhonua staff meet with offenders on-site at Oahu’s correctional facilities and also provide support post-release.
